About the role

The Manager - Climate Change Reporting & Analysis is responsible for managing AGL's compliance with the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) scheme, and reporting under various voluntary and mandatory climate-related disclosure frameworks.
Additionally, this role will support engagement with investors and others as a climate change risk subject matter expert, and provide periodic analysis of energy, greenhouse, and sustainability data to support business decision making.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Management of AGL's reporting obligations under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act.
  • Coordination of greenhouse and energy reporting requirements for all AGL assets.
  • Managing data collection, analysis, internal review processes and NGER governance processes, including documentation of procedures, information
    communication and sign-off throughout the business.
  • Management and delivery of AGL's reporting under climate-related disclosure frameworks, and delivery of greenhouse data to support AGL's external reporting processes.
  • External engagement with investors and others on AGL's greenhouse gas and climate change related policies and strategies as a specialist subject matter expert.
  • Provide specialist input to policy and strategy issues in relation to carbon and climate risk, reporting and analysis as a specialist subject matter expert.
  • Provide greenhouse and energy analysis to support business decision making.
  • Produce greenhouse and energy information for various reporting purposes and assist with the preparation of communications and reports for a range of different stakeholder audiences and in a variety of formats. Including sustainability surveys, investor presentations, government reports, policy submissions, and sustainability performance reports to AGL management and Board.
  • Contribute to or co-ordinate special projects as needed to address specific strategy initiatives.

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the energy industry, consulting or equivalent field
  • Extensive experience in climate risk reporting and analysis
  • Experience in and understanding of NGER, TCFD and sustainability reporting frameworks and requirements
  • Experience in managing consultants and assurance engagements
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, economics or related discipline
  • Excellent technical knowledge and strong data analysis skills
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem solving skills, acute attention to detail, with the ability to stay focused on the bigger picture
  • Confident at liaising with people from all levels of business, and ability to work constructively with internal stakeholders to understand, measure and influence business performance
