About The Role

Join Asset Plus, a division of Johnson Controls, as an Energy Project Engineer and become a vital part of the team driving the UK’s transition to Net Zero. This hybrid role involves travel across the UK and offers an exciting opportunity to work on energy-saving projects that make a tangible impact on reducing carbon emissions and energy consumption. As an Energy Project Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, validating, and managing technical solutions that deliver measurable energy, carbon, and financial savings for our clients. You will collaborate closely with various teams including Business Development, Delivery, and Measurement & Verification to ensure that projects meet or exceed guaranteed outcomes. Your expertise will help shape sustainable solutions that align with clients’ decarbonisation and sustainability objectives, making a real difference in the fight against climate change.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience in delivering technical solutions within energy-saving, decarbonisation, or building-services environments. A solid understanding of renewable energy technologies such as Solar PV, Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs), LED upgrades, and Building Management System (BMS) optimisation is essential. Knowledge of measurement and verification principles, specifically the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP), is highly desirable. The candidate should have the ability to produce high-level appraisals and investment-grade proposals, demonstrating strong analytical and technical skills. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills are vital for explaining complex technical information clearly and effectively. The role requires proactive, organised individuals who can take ownership of technical workstreams and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical delivery of energy-saving projects from initial concept through to completion, ensuring all aspects meet quality and safety standards.
  • Develop and validate innovative solutions that guarantee energy, carbon, and financial savings, aligned with client objectives.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager to monitor and improve programme performance, ensuring project milestones are achieved.
  • Identify and report any technical deviations that could impact guaranteed outcomes, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct on-site technical and quality audits to verify compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform surveys and produce detailed, data-driven proposals and reports to support project decisions.
  • Provide technical oversight during installation phases to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to facilitate smooth project execution, addressing any technical challenges promptly.
  • Assist with Measurement & Verification activities and post-installation checks to confirm project performance and savings.
