EMS Project Manager

Summary: The EMS Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of Energy Management System (EMS) projects. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring successful implementation of EMS solutions that optimize energy performance, reduce costs, and support sustainability goals.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end EMS project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
• Collaborate with engineering, IT, and operations teams to deploy EMS technologies and solutions.
• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success metrics in alignment with client and organizational objectives.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Identify and mitigate project risks; resolve issues promptly to keep projects on track.
• Ensure compliance with energy regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Communicate project status, milestones, and challenges to stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party contractors as needed.
• Support post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Minimum of a 4-year degree (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: 3–5 years of project management experience, ideally in energy systems, building automation, or related technical fields.
• Strong understanding of EMS technologies, energy analytics, and sustainability frameworks.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Smartsheet).
