Job Overview Solar & BESS Technician – Operations and Maintenance. Location: Casa Grande, AZ. This position is based on the utility‐scale Solar Energy Plants in Southern Arizona. A company vehicle and gas card are provided for commuting. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Perform assigned O&M activities for solar PV sites and substations at Arizona Solar Energy Plants. Conduct corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations for equipment such as power electronics, inverters, combiner boxes, trackers, and switching equipment. Carry out technical and administrative duties required to operate and maintain the power facility. Prepare and implement switching and clearance orders. Ensure all work conforms to environmental and safety requirements. Work independently or as part of maintenance crews. Education and Experience 2‐year technical degree or equivalent journeyman qualifications. Three (3) or more years as a PV O&M solar technician. Five (5) or more years in a power plant and at least one year in PV O&M or construction. Demonstrated knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals (single‐craft journeyman skills) such as electrical measurements, control circuits, and solid‐state theory. Basic knowledge of operational characteristics of equipment and associated control devices installed in power facilities. Working Conditions Work outdoors, at heights, and in high/low ambient temperatures and humidity. Activities include standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and accessing plant equipment. Use of personal protective equipment such as respirators, safety glasses, hard hats, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc. Potential exposure to rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals.
