Job Description

Are you passionate about driving climate resilience and sustainability in engineering projects? Join our Environmental Division and help shape a low-carbon future by integrating climate strategies into infrastructure and development solutions.

About the Role

As a Climate Change Consultant, you will work with multidisciplinary teams to assess climate risks, develop adaptation and mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with global and regional climate frameworks. Your expertise will guide AECOM clients and teams in embedding sustainability into project design and delivery.

Here is what you will do:
  • Conduct climate risk and vulnerability assessments for engineering projects and operations.
  • Develop and implement adaptation strategies to enhance infrastructure resilience.
  • Design mitigation plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve energy efficiency.
  • Advise on compliance with international and local standards (IPCC, Paris Agreement, TCFD).
  • Model climate scenarios and assess potential impacts on project performance.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and client presentations.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and training on climate change strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented measures.

Here’s what we’re looking for:
  • Proven experience in climate risk assessment, adaptation planning, and mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with climate modelling tools and GIS applications.
  • Strong understanding of global and regional climate policies.
  • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and engage diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Sustainability, or related field.
