Job Description

As a Senior Sustainability Consultant on our team, you will support projects and provide strategic guidance to teams pursuing various third party sustainability certification systems (such as LEED, Mostadam, WELL) from conceptual design through construction phase. Your role will include providing everyday technical guidance to design teams, conducting detailed QAQC, and presentation of outcomes to the lead teams and/or clients. In addition, you will support the development of innovative sustainability solutions which reflect optimal outcomes for new and existing projects whilst balancing client objectives.

  • Promotes AECOM’s Sustainable Legacies Strategy
  • Support ESG assessments for diverse set of projects across multiple countries.
  • Provide technical guidance to design teams to drive sustainability integration in projects and comply with AECOM’s technical quality standards
  • Understand and technically interpret the requirements and metrics for compliance with LEED, Mostadam, WELL, and other third-party certifications
  • Lead and support sustainability certification delivery for projects pursuing LEED and other applicable green building rating systems (e.g., WELL, FitWel, Mostadam as applicable).
  • Manage end-to-end certification processes, including feasibility assessments, credit strategy development, documentation, and submission through platforms such as LEED Online.
  • Review design and construction submittals to ensure alignment with sustainability goals and certification criteria.
  • Mentor junior sustainability staff and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and best practices related to certification delivery.
  • Guide the process of collecting and interpreting complex client data sets, including conducting, organizing, and synthesizing research (related to energy, water, waste, GHG), methodologies, and standards
  • Provide advice to clients/teams regarding the best long-term strategies to achieve Net Zero alignment, meet targets and supports their sustainability ambitions .

Qualifications

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree, in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field
  • Minimum 4 years’ demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end sustainability certification processes (including but not limited to LEED, Mostadam, WELL) for projects across multiple sectors.
  • Active LEED AP credentials
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks and standards including GRI, SASB, ISSB, TCFD, and UN Global Compact among others.
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills with an ability to convey complex information clearly

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field
  • 5 years’ experience in ESG, sustainability or decarbonization climate change, and decarbonization advisory
  • Strong technical knowledge in the domain of Climate Change, Decarbonization Strategy and ESG
  • Knowledge of the following preferred: GHG accounting and reporting standards
  • Experience with Revit/BIM is a plus
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead and coordinate diverse teams
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a consulting environment.
