About the Impact Investment Advisory practice
The work of our Impact Investment Advisory practice includes the following services:
· Investment Readiness: We advise SMEs and project developers on their financing and fundraising strategy and get them ready to meet investor expectations, including on ESG. This includes developing fundable propositions, including investor-facing documents, such as financial models, investment memoranda, and pitch decks.
· Capital Raising: Once investment-ready, we introduce SMEs and project developers to our network of international impact investors, DFIs, VC, PE, and private debt funds. We support them throughout the investment process, guiding them through financial structuring, negotiations, and due diligence, until financial close.
· Investment Advisory: We support impact investment funds to find and invest in the right SMEs and projects across our markets. This includes services such as pipeline origination, due diligence (financial, commercial, ESG), valuation analysis, as well as deal structuring and syndication.
· Fund Advisory: We advise fund managers and capital providers on the design of new investment vehicles and strategies, as well as fundraising. We further conduct performance reviews and benchmarking of existing investment vehicles.
About the role
To help meet the increasing demand from businesses, project developers, and impact investors, we are looking for an Impact Investment Advisor. You will report to the Head of Impact Investment Advisory.
The Impact Investment Advisor’s work is diverse, challenging, adventurous, and impactful. Your work will contribute to job creation, poverty alleviation, food security, climate change adaptation, renewable energy access, and other meaningful impact that can be delivered through private sector development.
As Impact Investment Advisor, you will contribute to the acquisition and execution of a wide range of transactions and assignments, representing businesses, project developers, and investors on raises across equity, debt, and blended capital, as well as fund advisory projects.
Key responsibilities
As part of project teams of typically 1-3 consultants under the guidance of a senior consultant, you will acquire and execute client assignments, taking responsibility for the delivery of your workstreams according to defined timelines and our internal quality standards. This may include:
· Analysing financial statements and conducting market, sector, and company research to inform investment decisions, feasibility assessments, and fund strategies
· Supporting investment readiness for clients, including assessing gaps against investor expectations and helping implement improvements
· Producing high-quality deliverables such as financial models, investment memoranda, pitch decks, and reports
· Participating in investor calls and negotiations, responding to information requests, and maintaining data rooms
· Conducting in-market fieldwork, including company site visits, management interviews, and on-the-ground data collection
· Supporting relationships with clients, investors, and other stakeholders, and contributing to the acquisition of new assignments
Preferred qualifications, skills, and experience
As we strive to deliver excellence to our clients, we are on the lookout for outstanding candidates. You may be the perfect match if you share our passion for private sector development in AgriFood, Renewable Energy, Circular Economy, and Fashion, and bring the following:
· Master’s degree in finance, (international) business, economics or another
relevant discipline that involves finance. CFA or equivalent professional
certifications are a plus.
· Minimum 5 years relevant work experience, including significant working
experience in Africa or Asia. Experience with agriculture, circular economy,
renewable energy and/or fashion is preferred.
· Demonstrated experience in preparing, analysing, structuring, and/or
executing transactions in equity, debt, or across financial products for SMEs.
· Solid understanding of accounting and financial statement analysis,
accompanied by strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
· Ability to work effectively with AI tools to enhance efficiency while
maintaining the high quality of deliverables and protection of client data.
· Outstanding customer relationship and stakeholder management skills.
· Strong analytical, organisational and project management skills.
· Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English. Fluency in
French is a plus.
· Ability to work well under pressure, meeting occasionally conflicting
deadlines.
· A sense of humour, and a positive outlook on life and teamwork.
Location & travel requirements
The Impact Investment Advisor will be based at our office in Ede, the Netherlands. The role requires occasional international travel. You will be making 4-8 short (typically one week) trips per year to African and/or Asian markets for some of the assignments.
