- Growing Energy Market Intelligence Organisation (SaaS)
- Develop New Business and Drive Sales
- Canberra Office Location
Our client, a rapidly growing renewable energy technology organisation, is looking for an experienced Senior Account Executive to drive growth in new business and help shape the strategy of a high-growth SaaS business that is accelerating the energy transition.
The Role
Working closely with the founding team in this fast paced environment your role will include the following:
- Identify, target, and win new business across energy developers, utilities, OEMs, EPCs, financiers, consultants, and government bodies
- Understand potential customers' business objectives and challenges, and how to address them.
- Own the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and initial discovery to tailored demos, proposal development, negotiation, and contract close.
- Deliver high-impact product demos and presentations that articulate the value proposition and ROI.
- Work collaboratively with marketing to align campaigns, messaging, and lead-generation initiatives, and provide insights and feedback back to R&D teams
- Generate pipeline through your own outbound efforts (email, calls, events and building your network), rather than relying solely on inbound leads.
- Forecast revenue, track progress against sales targets, and maintain disciplined CRM hygiene.
The Requirements
- Significant experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within SaaS, data platforms, or the energy/renewables sector.
- Experience selling technical products (e.g. market intelligence, analytics) to both commercial and technical stakeholders.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with a proven track record of winning new business and consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Highly driven, self-motivated, and comfortable working autonomously in an evolving environment to deliver results.
Ideal Attributes
- Strong industry awareness and a genuine interest in the renewable energy transition and grid decarbonisation.
- Understanding of energy and climate policy, and of how data centres and AI build-out impacts energy needs.
- Experience working closely with product and R&D teams to shape features, roadmaps and use cases based on customer feedback.
- Existing network across one or more of the core customer segments (developers, suppliers, utilities, investors, government and regulators).
