Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end development of BMS hardware, software, and system architecture.
- Define technical requirements, specifications, and performance targets for BMS products.
- Drive innovation in battery monitoring, diagnostics, safety, and control systems.
- Review and approve system designs, electrical schematics, and software architectures.
- Mentor and guide BMS engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Develop battery monitoring and protection strategies for voltage, current, temperature, insulation, and fault detection.
- Design and implement algorithms for:
- State of Charge (SOC)
- State of Health (SOH)
- State of Power (SOP)
- Remaining Useful Life (RUL)
- Develop battery balancing strategies (active and passive balancing).
- Define battery safety controls, degradation analysis, and thermal management requirements.
- Establish communication architecture using CAN, Modbus, Ethernet, and other industrial protocols.
- Integrate BMS with PCS, EMS, SCADA, and battery pack systems.
- Support battery pack design, module development, and containerized BESS solutions.
- Coordinate with battery cell suppliers and system integration teams.
- Ensure interoperability between hardware, firmware, and software platforms.
- Develop validation plans for BMS hardware and software.
- Conduct FMEA, DFMEA, HAZOP, and reliability studies.
- Lead HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop), SIL (Software-in-the-Loop), environmental, safety, and abuse testing.
- Analyze field performance data and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as:
- IEC 62619
- IEC 62933
- UL 1973
- UL 9540/9540A
- IEC 61508
- ISO 26262 (where applicable)
- Develop battery safety strategies and emergency protection mechanisms.
- Support certifications, audits, and regulatory submissions.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, or related discipline.
- Specialization in Battery Technology, Energy Storage, or Embedded Systems preferred.
