About the Role
This intern will support Acterra's Youth Education programs, primarily the Acterra Student Ambassador Program (ASAP). Core work includes building an alumni database, conducting interviews to document long-term impact, planning an ASAP reunion, and writing a monthly newsletter for ASAP newsletter subscribers. Additionally, the intern will assist with planning the Active Transportation Leadership Committee meetings and attend virtual and in-person events for the committee.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize current ASAP program data and track outcomes/engagement metrics
- Assist in planning and facilitating an ASAP reunion event
- Conduct outreach to alumni for interviews and reunion participation
- Coordinate qualitative interviews with past students about program impact
- Gather feedback via surveys and interviews; document student stories for impact reporting
- Write monthly ASAP newsletter (events, internships, opportunities)
- Aid Programs Associate in planning activities for the monthly Active Transportation Leadership Committee meetings.
- Attend in-person events and meetings to participate and facilitate activities.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled college student (undergraduate or graduate)
- Reside in the Bay Area
- Able to attend in-person meetings/events in Santa Clara County and San Jose
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Reliable computer and internet access
- 10-week commitment: July 20 – September 28*
- 20-30 Hours/Week
- Coursework or interest in environmental studies, sustainability, or education
- (Preferred) Residence in Silicon Valley Clean Energy Territory/Santa Clara County
