The ASAP program is a youth-led club that helps high school students explore environmental topics, develop leadership skills, and take climate action through community-based projects. Interns play a role in the success of this program by supporting students and Acterra staff to help ensure the smooth operation of program logistics and communication.


Intern Responsibilities:

  • Maintain organized records of student participation and assignment progress.
  • Attend team meetings to coordinate upcoming sessions and contribute ideas for program improvement.
  • Communicate important announcements and deadlines to students.
  • Create and deliver one educational seminar on an environmental or leadership-related topic.
  • Offer mentorship and encouragement to students, helping them stay engaged, meet goals, and gain confidence in their project work.

*Intern will receive two $1,000 stipends in 5-week increments.


Requirements:

  • Must be a college student (undergraduate or graduate).
  • Must live in the Bay Area and be able to attend inperson events.
  • Interest or coursework in environmental studies, sustainability, education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with comfort in a hybrid work environment.
  • Reliable access to a computer and internet connection.
  • Attend weekly meetings and commit 5–8 hours per week during the program term (Mid January - Mid March)
