- Mentor Project Managers and Project Engineers to ensure adherence to company procedures.
- Provide feedback to leadership on performance and areas for improvement.
- Prepare key individuals for advancement opportunities through coaching and guidance.
- Collaborate with estimators on upcoming public projects.
- Participate in bid reviews and provide strategic input where applicable.
- Research and identify potential projects for inclusion in the bidding pipeline.
- Assist with estimating processes for targeted projects.
- Contribute to employee review processes and offer insights on company operations.
- Support future hiring efforts for Project Managers.
- Host internal preconstruction meetings and assist in resource allocation.
- Develop project schedules and manage project scope.
- Support project buyout and budget review/modification as needed.
- Oversee change management and schedule updates.
- Attend weekly project meetings and maintain cost tracking.
- Manage project billings, monthly WIPs, and budget reviews.
- Communicate budget changes and operational impacts to leadership.
- Assign tasks to Project Engineers, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
- Lead project closeout activities and conduct post-job reviews with the project team.
- Act as a trusted advisor to owners and leadership, offering insights and recommendations.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.
- 5-10 years experience as a project manager directly with a civil subcontractor.
- Direct experience with earthwork and underground utilities.
- Exposure to both public and private works' projects.
- Experience in approving change orders, cost tracking, scheduling, and all primary PM responsibilities.
- Proven experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of preconstruction, estimating, and project execution processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and mentorship skills.
- Ability to analyze budgets, manage changes, and ensure financial accountability.
- Familiarity with public and private sector construction projects.
- Experience with construction management, change order approval, and civil construction.
- Knowledge in utilities, cost tracking, budgeting, and heavy civil projects.
- Estimation and project management experience in private construction.
