Job Title: Project Manager - Utility Construction
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Manager to lead complex utility projects from initiation through closeout. The projects involve a variety of utility work, focusing on low voltage distribution, both overhead and underground. The role requires working on-site at the DTE in Redford for three days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely for the other two days. Occasionally, the role may require travel to construction sites in Southeast Detroit or office visits.
Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of project management: planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
- Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure project execution.
- Track and manage project budgets, schedules, and risks.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
- Prepare status reports, forecasts, and presentations for clients and leadership.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and industry standards.
- Mentor and support project team members, including coordinators and field staff.
- Monitor projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely completion of all steps.
- Work with cross-functional teams to balance work plan completion, resources, and new business workload.
- Collaborate with Resource Planners on forecasting crew movement for successful project completion.
- Serve as the single point of contact for project coordination and issue resolution.
- Participate in problem-solving and lean management efforts to improve processes and gain efficiencies.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of project management and utility experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in utility construction, particularly low voltage distribution.
- Experience with LVD, Substation, Transmission, Nat Gas, and underground utility work.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $55.00/hr.
