Job Title: Project Manager – Solar Tracking Systems

Job Description

This role leads groups of solar tracking projects from purchase order through commissioning, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. The Project Manager develops a strong technical understanding of solar tracking systems, manages project financials, and provides high-quality customer support. This position combines project management, construction oversight, data analysis, and customer-facing responsibilities to drive the successful deployment and performance of solar PV plants.

Responsibilities

  • Lead groups of projects from purchase order through commissioning, taking full ownership of all project phases and deliverables.
  • Read and interpret contracts, perform cost scoping, and ensure project scope, schedule, and budget align with contractual obligations.
  • Conduct data analysis, including understanding and tracking which part numbers correspond to specific site numbers and project locations.
  • Manage project profit and loss (P&L), including revenue forecasting, invoicing, cashflow tracking, and cost management to achieve financial targets.
  • Develop and maintain a strong technical understanding of solar tracking systems and associated tools, and apply this knowledge to project planning and execution.
  • Provide customer field support for installation and quality control, ensuring projects meet technical specifications and performance requirements.
  • Drive resolution of quality issues through established Non-Conformance Report (NCR) and Construction Deviation Report processes.
  • Support product development, sales, and marketing teams as requested by providing project insights, technical feedback, and field data.
  • Coordinate the ordering of tools and equipment for projects, ensuring availability of required tools and training for project teams.
  • Ensure a strong customer care experience by communicating clearly, managing expectations, and effectively resolving customer issues.
  • Oversee the safety and daily project workflow of Technical Advisers and Commissioning Teams assigned to project sites.
  • Collaborate closely with construction, engineering, and project engineering teams to ensure alignment on design, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Work with supply chain, procurement, and logistics functions to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to project sites.
  • Support operations and maintenance (O&M) and customer support activities, addressing issues that arise during and after project commissioning.
  • Close out projects by completing documentation, financial reconciliation, lessons learned, and handover to operations or customer teams.

Essential Skills

  • 3–7 years of experience as a Project Manager, preferably in solar, construction, or engineering-focused projects.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Experience in construction or construction management, with the ability to coordinate field activities and site teams.
  • Experience in engineering or project engineering, ideally related to solar or mechanical systems.
  • Experience in supply chain procurement and logistics, including ordering, tracking, and coordinating materials and tools.
  • Proven ability to handle customer support and operations and maintenance (O&M) issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and project information clearly.
  • Strong customer service skills and a customer-centric approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to read and understand contracts, perform cost scoping, and support P&L management.
  • Capability to perform data analysis related to parts, sites, and project performance metrics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience with solar tracking systems or solar PV projects.
  • Familiarity with Non-Conformance Report (NCR) and Construction Deviation Report processes.
  • Experience supporting product development, sales, and marketing with technical and project-related input.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and oversee Technical Advisers and Commissioning Teams.
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort working in cross-functional, global teams.
  • Interest in sustainability and climate-focused technologies.

This role is based in an office environment in Nashville, TN. You will work closely with global teams focused on improving PV plant performance using smart technology, data monitoring, and analysis services. The office offers a collaborative setting with catered lunches provided twice a week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $55.29/hr.
