Project Manager
Job Title: Project Manager - Power Utility Job Description We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee large-scale projects ranging from $2M to $50M. The role involves interpreting contractual language and terms, managing routine project management and contract administrative responsibilities, and ensuring successful execution within scope, schedule, and budget. The Project Manager will coordinate and consolidate material and contractual labor procurement for a portfolio of transmission and distribution projects. Responsibilities
- Execute multi-year, multi-million dollar transmission and distribution construction projects, ensuring completion within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Follow project management standards and protocols, including schedules, cash flows, work breakdown structures, stakeholder management, and risk identification and mitigation.
- Coordinate activities across internal and external stakeholders, including system planning, engineering, supply chain, environmental, and operations.
- Collaborate with the engineering team and supply chain to develop specifications and scopes of work for contracted activities.
- Ensure contracted work is completed per specifications, and negotiate final scopes of work to minimize change orders.
- Work with the Construction Management team to execute construction activities efficiently.
- Manage collection and tracking of all costs associated with the portfolio of projects and provide detailed cost breakdowns for meetings and reporting.
- Define material requirements and assist with procurement of materials and inventory.
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment requirements across all projects to identify efficiencies.
- Expertise in transmission and distribution, high voltage projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of project management and construction management experience on multi-million dollar projects, preferably in electric utility projects.
- PMP certification strongly preferred.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of contracting approaches for engineering and construction activities.
- Expert knowledge of purchasing policies and vendor selection criteria and processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
- Familiarity with Oracle P6 and Copperleaf C55.
- Demonstrated ability to continuously improve processes and understanding of basic Continuous Improvement methodology.
- Strong business process management skills and commitment to enhancing operational efficiency.
