Job Title: Sr. Project Manager Location: Cheshire, CT (Local Projects) Job Type: Full-Time Position Overview A well-established construction firm is seeking a seasoned Sr. Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from start to finish. This role is responsible for overall project direction, coordination, completion, and financial performance. The ideal candidate will also mentor project engineers and foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture. Key Responsibilities

  • Review project specifications and manage submittals, scope changes, and long-lead items
  • Develop and execute site logistics plans and coordinate job site setup
  • Create and maintain field inspection reports, tracking deficiencies and communicating updates
  • Maintain record drawings and document control logs
  • Monitor trade performance against schedule and address delays
  • Promote and enforce job site safety protocols, including leading safety meetings
  • Interpret construction plans and specifications accurately
  • Support project documentation, including two-week look-aheads and meeting minutes
  • Utilize and optimize Procore software for project management
  • Attend job site meetings and pre-construction meetings for subcontractor coordination
  • Track and submit RFIs, ASIs, sketches, and other project documentation
  • Fulfill additional project-specific tasks as needed
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in project management within commercial construction
  • Proficiency in RFIs, change orders, submittals, and Procore software
  • OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred
  • Experience managing projects ranging from $500K to $25M
  • Strong experience in subcontractor coordination and quality control
  • Site construction experience across sectors such as education, healthcare, transportation, and industrial
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Experience in self-performing construction tasks
  • Pre-construction or carpentry experience is a plus
Work Environment This role includes both office and field responsibilities, with weekly site visits expected. Projects are located within one hour of home, and the typical workday begins around 7:30 AM. The team values professionalism, safety, and proactive problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
