Your Role In Our Story

In essence, your role involves:

  • Acting as the subject-matter expert for key sustainability compliance products across your region, supporting teams across renewable fuels, gases and energy products.
  • Ensuring our products and activities meet relevant regulatory and sustainability certification requirements, including ISCC, RED II/III, Mass Balance, RFS, LCFS and related frameworks.
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and translating new requirements into practical changes to processes, controls and ways of working.
  • Leading and coordinating regional certification and accreditation audits, ensuring strong preparation, smooth execution and consistently high compliance standards.
  • Assessing complex trades, supply chains, feedstocks, Proof of Sustainability documentation and GHG calculations, providing clear sustainability compliance go/no-go advice.
  • Working closely with Sales, Trading, Operations, Legal, Risk and Finance to identify compliance risks and opportunities and enable informed, risk-based business decisions.
  • Analysing transactional data flows and identifying systemic issues, using your insights to strengthen data integrity, reporting and operational processes.
  • Representing ACT with regulators, certification bodies, auditors and industry forums, while helping shape emerging compliance frameworks and protecting ACT’s licence to operate.

Your Expertise

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A university degree in environmental science, engineering, law or a related field, combined with 4–6+ years of relevant experience in sustainability or product compliance.
  • Strong expertise in renewable fuels, biomethane, gas trading, energy efficiency or regulated environmental commodities.
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability certification and regulatory frameworks such as ISCC EU, RED II/III, Mass Balance, chain of custody, REC, LCFS, RFS and RPS.
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced, international and multicultural environment, ideally collaborating closely with Sales and Operations teams.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and regulatory requirements and turn them into practical, scalable solutions.
  • The confidence to independently navigate complex and ambiguous compliance situations, exercise sound judgement and drive improvements without needing constant guidance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence across functions and geographies without direct authority.
  • A clear and confident English communicator, with the credibility to act as a subject-matter expert, coach colleagues and represent ACT externally. Fluency in French or Spanish would be an advantage.
