Investment Associate - Energy Transition

We are seeking candidates with 1-2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or project finance, ideally with exposure to the energy transition, renewables, or climate technology sectors.
Our client is a leading European investment and advisory firm focused on accelerating the global shift toward clean energy and sustainable infrastructure. The Associate will play a key role in executing and managing investments across venture-stage climate technologies, growth equity opportunities, and energy transition projects.
This position offers full exposure to the investment lifecycle-from origination and due diligence to portfolio management and value creation-within a high-performing, mission-driven team at the forefront of sustainable investing.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end transaction execution — take ownership of financial modeling, valuation analysis, due diligence coordination, and transaction structuring across both venture and infrastructure deals.
- Investment origination — support the development of new deal flow through thematic research, proactive outreach, and relationship building with entrepreneurs, advisors, and co-investors.
- Investment materials — prepare detailed investment memoranda, board papers, and presentation materials for investment committees and LPs.
- Strategic and market analysis — assess emerging trends, technologies, and policy frameworks across climate tech, renewables, and sustainable infrastructure.
- Portfolio management — monitor company performance, develop KPI dashboards, and assist with post-investment value creation initiatives such as governance support, add-on M&A, and operational scaling.
- Stakeholder engagement — liaise with management teams, industry experts, and external advisors to drive successful investment outcomes and strengthen the firm’s presence in the market
- Process improvement — contribute to refining internal investment processes, frameworks, and analytical tools to support scalable growth of the platform.
Candidate Profile
- 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or project finance, with solid transaction and modeling exposure.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to manage complex investment cases across multiple asset types.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of engaging credibly with senior stakeholders and investment committees.
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, and highly organized, with a strong motivation to contribute to the global energy transition.
- Intellectually curious, commercially astute, and driven by impact and sustainability.
