Currently, this position is located in our project office in Sydney CBD, with occasional site visits. Once the project is fully operational, it will transition to a 14/7 roster-based arrangement out of our camp in Merotherie in the Central West Orana Region.

ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.

The new transmission network infrastructure will deliver at least 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity from 2028 to connect 7.7 gigawatts of wind and solar projects, which is enough to power more than 2 million homes each year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the structural assembly and erection of steel lattice and monopole transmission towers, ensuring compliance with engineering designs, safety standards, approved works methodologies and environmental regulations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage site activities related to tower construction, including material delivery, resource allocation, and equipment usage.
  • Supervise construction works including dogging, rigging, crane operations and working at height.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure adherence to legislative, company, and project-specific safety regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections to assess quality, identify potential hazards, and address construction challenges.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of construction phases.
  • Work closely with team counterparts in preceding and following construction phases to mitigate interface issues, ensuring achievement of Program.
  • Provide technical guidance and hands-on leadership to crews, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
  • Monitor progress and report any delays, risks, or deviations from the project plan to management.
  • Train and mentor field personnel, fostering a positive workplace culture of continuous improvement and individual development.
  • Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily reports, progress records, and incident reports.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
  • Resolve site issues, including weather delays, technical challenges, and workforce management concerns.


Criteria for Selection

  • Minimum of 5 years of Supervisory experience in rigging, and steelwork assembly and erection. Transmission line construction experience preferable.
  • HRWL in Dogging, Rigging
  • Experience Supervising cranes and lifting operations
  • Tower climbing, rescue and rope-access qualifications preferable.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and quality control procedures in the transmission sector.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Working at Heights qualification
