ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.

The Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Transmission Project will build new high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and supporting infrastructure to transfer power generated by solar and wind projects to electricity consumers. The new infrastructure is expected to be operational by 2028 and will initially unlock up to 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity.

The project consists of 90km of 500kV overhead transmission lines and 150 km of 330kV transmission lines for generator connections, stretching from Elong Elong in the west through to Barigan Creek in the east, via an energy hub at Merotherie.

The Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated Senior HR/IR Advisor to share their expertise within our growing project Teams

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible to bring the people lens to support business decisions.
  • Thinking ahead of time about how decisions may impact the team and what needs to happen to enable the desired outcomes.
  • Responsible for ensuring 'due process' requirements for all activities and supporting the adherence to company and project policies and legislative requirements.
  • Deliver end-to-end HR /IR advisory support across the employee lifecycle (mobilisation, onboarding, performance, discipline, development, and exit)
  • Manage day-to-day full employee lifecycle activities including industrial relations matters at an operational level
  • Lead performance management, investigations, disciplinary processes, conflict management, grievance resolution, dispute resolution line with legislative and industrial requirements as per the project policy/procedure
  • Provide first-line interpretation and application of industrial instruments and agreements
  • Provide embedded HR/IR support to construction areas and project functions as required
  • Maintain regular site engagement to support leaders and workforce needs
  • Balance site-based priorities with broader project-wide requirements
  • Respond to emerging people and IR issues with appropriate urgency and judgement
  • Responsible to keep a close focus on headcount requirements in accordance with the applicable forecasts and histograms, where the skill gaps are, putting controls in place to ensure the engagement of talent.
  • Responsible for guiding the workforce plan in conjunction with the Recruitment team and ensure timely and efficient delivery of end-to-end recruitment & selection by the recruiters.
  • Ensure HR and IR activities comply with legislation, industrial instruments, and JV governance frameworks
  • Maintain accurate documentation, case records, and audit-ready files
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of JV HR processes
  • Provide accurate and timely reports including but not limited to recruitment, new starters, monthly HR Report etc. as required.

Criteria for Selection

  • Preferable 3+ years of experience in a Senior HR/IR Advisor role, to deliver best HR/IR practices on the project
  • Significant experience in major projects, construction, or infrastructure environments preferably within joint ventures or multi-employer contexts
  • Proven experience in a similar role consisting of a white & blue-collar workforce.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and current HR/IR practices.
  • Experience working in a Tier 1 Contractor, Project Delivery environment
  • Being a strong communicator with in-depth knowledge in HR, BP and IR Australian construction practices / standards is a must
  • Site project experience working with unions, right of entry and consultation
  • Strong understanding of the Fair Work Commission and the administration of disputes includes but not limited to unfair dismissal and general protection claims.
