Central West Orana Project

Cobra is part of a consortium including Acciona and Endeavour Energy who have been successful in securing a contract with EnergyCo to design, build, own and operate the first New South Wales Renewable Energy Zone, Central West Orana. The project covers an area of 20,000 sq kms. It will initially entail the deployment of 4.5GW of transmitted electricity, powering 1.8 million homes, which will grow to 6GW by 2038. The project includes 90 kilometres of 500kV transmission lines and 150 kilometres of 330kV transmission lines to connect several renewable energy generation facilities to the grid. The project stretches from Elong Elong in the west through to Barigan Creek in the east, via an energy hub at Merotherie.

Our Central-West Orana project is currently seeking dedicated Blue-Collar Recruiter to share their expertise within our growing team.

This is a hybrid role, Sydney -based, with frequent visit to the sites, focusing on end-to-end recruitment, administration, and mobilisation coordination, ensuring a seamless hiring process for both local and overseas labour for site-based roles.

Working closely with the Project and HR teams, you'll play a key role in managing workforce mobilisation and ensuring all processes are delivered efficiently to meet project timelines and workforce demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support bulk and fast paced recruitment for blue-collar roles across the project.
  • Manage local and international recruitment, including visa processing and mobilisation logistics.
  • Oversee recruitment administration, including contracts, compliance checks, and onboarding documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date workforce data and reports
  • Support the onboarding process, ensuring all new hires are site-ready and compliant.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to align workforce planning with project requirements.
  • Coordinate mobilisation and deployment of workers to project sites, ensuring documentation, equipment, and logistics are complete.
  • Ensure all required tickets, training, and certifications are completed on time and accurately recorded in the system.

Criteria for Selection:

  • Proven experience in high-volume blue-collar recruitment. Experience with international mobilisation highly regarded.
  • Strong organisational and process management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and Applicant Tracking Software (ATS).
  • Sound understanding of employment compliance and onboarding processes for blue-collar roles.
  • Excellent attention to detail, proactive mindset, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and capable of meeting deadlines.
  • Flexible and willing to assist the team with additional tasks as required.
