ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.
The Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Transmission Project will build new high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and supporting infrastructure to transfer power generated by solar and wind projects to electricity consumers. The new infrastructure is expected to be operational by 2028 and will initially unlock up to 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity.
The project consists of 90km of 500kV overhead transmission lines and 150 km of 330kV transmission lines for generator connections, stretching from Elong Elong in the west through to Barigan Creek in the east, via an energy hub at Merotherie.
Our Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated construction Planner - Substations to share their expertise within our growing Energy Hubs and Substations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures all quality and environmental aspects of the project are addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery.
- Ensures that the project teams execute all aspects of the project works in accordance with quality requirements (e.g. all non-conformances and defects closed out)
- Demonstrates senior management commitment to safety by participating in site safety inspections.
- Actively and constantly assists in the identification of risks and opportunities for the project in relation to area of control and the wider project.
- Assists with the implementation of measures to mitigate risks.
- Communicates and escalates risks and opportunities to the Line Manager as identified.
- Assists, maintains, and monitors the internal Target program, ensuring it is included in all tenders, subcontracts, procurement, and contracts.
- Assists with client interactions and client advisement of evolving project circumstances and anticipated impacts on program outcomes.
- Creates project timelines for deliverables, development of processes, assists in budget management.
- Delivers high quality programs on time and within budget.
- Develops measurement metrics for client satisfaction, team efficiency, assists quality assurance and project timeliness.
- Any other duties as may be required by the project or Line Manager
- Assists with the development of programs and implementation of relevant program systems to monitor the progress of the project
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
- Thorough knowledge of the project documents related to planning issues and related outcome.
- Assists with the preparation of accurate and timely monthly reports.
- Reports regularly to the Line Manager on the status of implementation and its effectiveness.
Criteria for Selection
- 5+ years as a Planner, Project Controls Engineer and or Schedular
- Experience working on large scale renewable energy transmission lines, 500kV Energy hubs and 330kV substations or infrastructure style projects
- Experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations
- Preferably Tier 1 contractor experience
- Self-confident and able to persuade, convince or impress others to gain their commitment and co-operation to a course of action.
- Good at multi-tasking and demonstrates sound judgments, including balancing competing issues.
Planner roles can be in our project office in Sydney CBD, with occasional site visits or it will be DIDO, 14 days onsite in camp style accommodation and 7 days off site, on a roster-based arrangement out of The Central West Orana Transmission Line Project
Specialised knowledge of project scheduling and program logic networking. Demonstrable understanding of design engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning methodologies. Proficient in Primavera software applications and P6/database programming
