Investment Associate
Investment Associate
Salary: £60,000 - 80,000
London, Hybrid (3 days) + international travel
I'm excited to be working with a highly respected VC to hire an Investment Associate into their team, as they prepare to deploy their latest fund.
The fund invests at Series A across the UK, Europe and the US, focused on supporting ambitious founders solving climate related problems within electrification, energy, nature and AI.
They are a small but exceptional team, that collaborate closely, are intellectually curious and hold themselves to a high commercial standard.
THE ROLE
We are hiring an Investment Analyst or Associate to join their investment team.
You will work across the full investment cycle: from deal sourcing and forming an investment view, to supporting diligence and deal execution, through to supporting portfolio founders before, during and after investment.
This is a role for an entrepreneurial and curious individual, with a strong personal network, brand and area of expertise upon which to build a successful career in venture.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Deal sourcing and pipeline management. Build a strong pipeline of exceptional founders across the UK, Europe and the US, and form an early view on where the commercial opportunity sits.
- Network building. Build genuine relationships with founders, co-investors and technical experts across the industry.
- Diligence and execution. Do the heavy lifting on deals: market and commercial diligence, financial modelling, investment memos, and support on term sheets, working alongside senior investors. The role will have a have a strong focus on commercial and analytical judgement.
- Systems expertise (research) and point of view. Build the network and expertise that give you a unique view on the market forces and system conditions shaping their core verticals, and turn that into sharp, commercial thinking the team and the market can use.
- Portfolio support. Own the data-driven market analysis, quarterly portfolio reviews and announced deals process, and help connect founders to the specialist expertise and networks that sharpen their path to scale.
WHO YOU ARE
- Entrepreneurially minded with a passion for deal sourcing. You build strong networks quickly, form real relationships with founders, investors and operators, organise events and gatherings and can show evidence of creating new initiatives or companies of your own. You likely won't have traditional or linear resume for a role in venture.
- Independent-minded. You consistently question the status quo, challenge consensus thinking, and forge your own path.
- Experience. Ideally 2-5 years in a fast-paced, commercial environment: Tech/Startup background, VC, Growth or relevant finance background.
- Commercially minded. You believe category-defining companies win because they make systems work better, cheaper or faster, and you can make that commercial logic clear.
- Strong analyst. Top analytical, research and modelling skills, with the judgement to know what actually matters in a decision.
- Curious. You want to understand how technologies actually work in the physical world, and how that turns into commercial value.
- Intellectually honest. You express your views clearly, separate fact from opinion, and change your mind when the data changes.
- A team player. Hungry but low-ego, and driven to build a world-class firm with a small team over the long term.

- Fund carry
- Medical, dental and vision insurance. Life insurance, income protection and sick pay
- Competitive pension
