Your job
As an Investment Associate in our Sustainable Consumption sector team, you will play an active role in identifying, assessing and supporting high-growth companies that are transforming consumer value chains. Areas of focus include materials, ingredients, consumer products, packaging, food systems, chemicals and technologies that help reduce the environmental footprint of consumption. You will support the full investment process, from sourcing opportunities and conducting market research to transaction execution and portfolio management. Working closely with experienced investment managers, founders, co-investors and industry experts, you will contribute to investments that drive meaningful environmental and societal impact.

Your job
As an Investment Associate in our Sustainable Consumption sector team, you will play an active role in identifying, assessing and supporting high-growth companies that are transforming consumer value chains. Areas of focus include materials, ingredients, consumer products, packaging, food systems, chemicals and technologies that help reduce the environmental footprint of consumption. You will support the full investment process, from sourcing opportunities and conducting market research to transaction execution and portfolio management. Working closely with experienced investment managers, founders, co-investors and industry experts, you will contribute to investments that drive meaningful environmental and societal impact.
Working environment
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and screening promising investment opportunities across Northwestern
- Conducting market research and industry analyses
- Building financial models, business cases and valuation analyses
- Supporting due diligence processes, including commercial, financial, legal and impact
- Preparing investment materials for internal decision-making and investment
- Assisting portfolio companies with strategic and operational initiatives
- Monitoring portfolio performance, both financially and from an impact perspective
- Building and maintaining relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, advisors and
- Representing SIF at conferences, industry events and networking opportunities
We are looking for a curious, driven and entrepreneurial professional who combines strong
analytical skills with a genuine commitment to sustainability.
You bring:
- A university degree in Finance, Economics/Econometrics, Engineering, (Bio)Chemistry
- Approximately 1-3 years of relevant work experience in a top tier venture capital, private
- Strong analytical, financial modelling and valuation skills
- Affinity with sustainable consumption themes such as circularity, sustainable materials,
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
- A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset
- An open-minded worldview and genuine intellectual curiosity about people, industries
- Excellent command of English; additional European languages are considered a plus
